Corona's havoc, the government's big decree - IPL 2020 can happen without viewers
IPL 2020 may be held between closed doors due to coronavirus outbreaks. The Sports Ministry has clearly stated to the National Cricket Federations, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), that any tournament in the country is to be held between closed doors amidst threats from coronovirus.
After this decision of the government, it is now clear that if the BCCI organizes the 13th season of IPL, then it will have to organize this tournament without an audience and hence this tournament can now be played between closed doors.
Sports Secretary Radhey Shyam Julania has made it clear that if there is a game that cannot be avoided, it should be held between closed doors and ensure that it does not attract spectators. IPL 2020 is proposed from 29th of this month. About 180 players from eight teams will participate in it.
Let us tell that more than 70 cases of coronavir have been reported in India so far. The BCCI has already given guidelines to the players to keep it safe. The board has directed airlines, team hotels, state associations and medical teams to clean all facilities before the players are used and during the players' use. The board has said, 'There will be' handwash and sanitizer 'in all the toilets of the stadium. The medical team and the first aid personnel present in the stadium will keep a record of all patients seeking treatment. '
